8th September 2019

Route. Sandwick - High Knott - Low Moss - Place Fell - Boredale Hause - Bedafell Knott - Beda Head on Beda fell - Winter Crag - Howstead Brow - Sandwick (about 7 miles  2300 ft of ascent )

A drive down by Ullswater to the road end at Sandwick to walk a couple of fells which we have walked in tandem before but not by the route we took today.

The lower slopes of Sleet Fell from the parking space across from cottages at Sandwick.

The northern end of Ullswater from the climb to High Knott.

Slightly colder today so the views were very sharp. This is looking over to Blencathra and Carrock Fell from the old quarry hut by the path.

High Dodd seen from the climb away from the large sheepfold.

Soon you have a great view of the Helvellyn fells.

Place fell summit.

Another look over to the Grisedale valley with St. Sunday on the left and Birkhouse Moor and Helvellyn to the right.

To the south are Brotherswater, the Kirkstone pass and the great bulk of Red Screes.

.

Zooming in a bit into Deepdale with the long ridge of Hartsop-Above-How on the left.leading up to Hart Crag and the Fairfield Horseshoe ridge.

Passing the head of Boredale with Hallin Fell across the end

The Nab and Rest Dodd..

The magnificent St. Sunday Crag seen across Boredale Head.

On to the summit of Beda Fell now looking north to Ullswater and Pooley Bridge.

Winter Crag is our last little ascent today. Hallin Fell beyond.

Sail boat on Ullswater.

Looking back to Beda Fell.

Boredale from the path down to the road.
